At the national level, the Agricultural Census Division within the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) of the Government of India is tasked with the planning, coordination, and execution of Agricultural Census operations across the country. Notably, this marks the inaugural instance in which data collection for the agricultural census is conducted using smartphones and tablets, thereby facilitating timely access to vital information.

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Kolkata has developed the application designated for Phase II of the data collection process. This phase focuses on gathering comprehensive data, specifically regarding:
